Which privacy laws apply to software you build for a BC company?
Usually British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act for private-sector organizations in the province, with the federal PIPEDA applying to some cross-border and federally regulated activity. We design for consent, purpose limitation and access requests, sign NDAs and data-processing agreements, and can deploy into a Canadian cloud region in your own account.
Vancouver is on Pacific Time — how much overlap is there?
Less than in Eastern Canada, so we plan for it. Mumbai is 12.5 to 13.5 hours ahead of Vancouver depending on the time of year; we hold live calls early in your morning, our evening, and keep everything else async with daily written updates and a staging link that always shows the latest build.
Can you invoice in Canadian dollars?
Yes. Vancouver clients are invoiced in CAD against milestones set in the fixed-scope proposal, so there is no currency surprise in your budget. We sign your NDA or ours before discovery begins.
How do engagements start?
Almost always with a paid discovery sprint — one to two weeks that ends with a fixed scope, timeline and price. If we conclude the project should not happen, we will say so and you keep the work.
Who owns the code and models?
