Patients now choose a clinic the way they choose most things: on their phone, in a few minutes, by comparing two or three options. Your website does not need to be fancy. It needs to answer the questions patients have, make booking effortless and build trust. Use this checklist to review your current site or brief a developer.
The checklist
1. Loads fast on a phone
Most patients will open your site on mobile data. If it takes more than a few seconds, many leave. Keep images compressed, avoid heavy sliders and test on an average Android phone.
2. Doctors, qualifications and experience
Each doctor's name, qualifications, registration details where appropriate, specialities and consulting days. A real, recent photo builds more trust than a stock image.
3. Treatments with clear fee ranges
Patients want to know roughly what a consultation or common treatment costs before they visit. Ranges are fine; surprises are not.
4. Online appointment booking
Let patients pick a doctor, a day and a time slot. Even a simple request form that sends the booking to your WhatsApp beats "call between 10 and 1".
5. WhatsApp and call buttons on every page
One tap to call, one tap to WhatsApp — visible without scrolling on mobile.
6. Timings, location and directions
Opening hours for each day, holiday timings, the address with landmarks, a map, and parking or nearest-station details.
7. Google Business Profile and reviews
Link your Google profile and show your rating. Ask every satisfied patient for an honest review — never pay or reward people for reviews.
8. Answers to common patient questions
Do I need an appointment? Do you see children? Is parking available? A short FAQ saves your reception hours every week.
9. Insurance and payment information
Which insurers you work with, whether cashless treatment is available, and accepted payment methods.
10. Patient data privacy
Booking forms collect personal and health information. Collect only what you need, explain how it is used, protect it, and follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Avoid sending medical details over unsecured channels.
11. Content that respects professional-conduct rules
Keep information factual. Doctors in India are expected to follow National Medical Commission (and, for dentists, Dental Council of India) guidance on professional conduct, which discourages self-promotional claims. Avoid phrases like "best doctor in Mumbai", guaranteed results or testimonials that promise outcomes. If unsure, check the current guidance with your association.
12. Reminders and follow-ups
Automatic WhatsApp reminders before appointments reduce no-shows, and follow-up messages bring patients back for reviews and check-ups.
Common mistakes on clinic websites
- A phone number that nobody answers. If the number on the site rings an empty reception after 7 pm, add WhatsApp booking or an enquiry form that is checked every morning.
- Old timings and departed doctors. Out-of-date information costs trust quickly. Assign one person to review the site every month.
- Stock photos of smiling models. Patients can tell. A few honest photos of your reception, consulting room and team work better.
- Long pages of medical jargon. Write the way you explain things to patients across the desk: what the treatment is, how long it takes, roughly what it costs.
- No mobile testing. Open your site on your own phone, on mobile data, and try to book an appointment. If it is frustrating for you, it is frustrating for patients.

Can doctors in India advertise on their website?
Doctors can share factual information such as qualifications, services, timings and fees. Professional-conduct rules discourage self-promotional claims, so keep content factual and avoid promises of results.
How much does a clinic website cost?
Our Clinic & Doctor Website template starts at ₹19,999 and goes live in 7–10 days; custom builds with more features cost more.
Should patients book online or on WhatsApp?
Both work. Many clinics use a simple online slot picker that sends the booking to WhatsApp, so the team confirms in one place.
Do I need a separate website for each doctor?
No. One clinic website with a page for each doctor is easier to manage and usually ranks better.
